Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Lawrence Jamieson (ranked 24683 p4p, 5209 weight class) and Eduardo Matias (ranked 261 p4p, 241 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Lawrence Jamieson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Eduardo Matias!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Chris Edwards and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jamieson fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Matias wants to counter the offense by Jamieson and move into the clinch position.

and Matias counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Jamieson!
Jamieson is working to avoid the ground and pound but Matias connects with a decent elbow.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Matias working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jamieson on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

Matias really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jamieson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jamieson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Matias can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Matias can do anything to dispel that myth.

Jamieson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jamieson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Jamieson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Matias doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Jamieson.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Matias is looking to regain half guard here but Jamieson keeps moving and retains side control.

That's time! Jamieson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jamieson is defended easily by Matias.

Lawrence Jamieson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jamieson is trying to get back to his feet. He's worked up on to his knees and now he's on his feet with his head on the canvas, trying to shake Matias off. It looks like it's working - Matias slides off, much to his dismay, and we're back to standing! Jamieson displaying calm under pressure there.

Well Matias has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
