Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Yawa Kiang (ranked 24452 p4p, 24338 weight class) and Way Nada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yawa Kiang could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Way Nada's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yawa Kiang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Way Nada!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Stewart Dunkirk and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Nada stuffs the takedown.
Nada replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Kiang blocks it well.

Kiang shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Nada is looking for a sweep. Kiang is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kiang takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Nada is doing well to control the position and prevent Kiang from advancing to side control.
Nada is trying to maintain the position but Kiang is very close to passing his half guard.

Kiang slows the pace down in half guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Nada fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kiang avoids it really well and circles away.
Kiang throws a quick counter kick to the body but Nada avoids it.
Nada gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Kiang counters with a head kick. That will keep Nada thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Nada looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Kiang throws a big counter combination but Nada scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Yawa Kiang has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Way Nada.
Kiang darts in looking for a takedown but Nada gets double underhooks and turns Kiang into the cage.

Nada pulls guard effortlessly.
Kiang controls from within his opponent's guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Nada wants to sweep but no luck.

Kiang is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Yawa Kiang dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Nada tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kiang sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Nada somewhat.

Kiang drops down looking for a counter takedown but Nada sprawls and moves away.

Kiang shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Nada wants to control but Kiang is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Let's hope that Nada has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Nada.
Nada won't allow Kiang to pass to mount.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Kiang with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Kiang stuffs the takedown.
Kiang jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Yawa Kiang has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Way Nada.

Kiang scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

You can see the frustration on Nada's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Yawa Kiang overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Nada sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Kiang controlling the pace.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Nada changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kiang tries to avoid it but Nada manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kiang to the ground. Kiang escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kiang trying to control but Nada is working from the bottom.
Kiang is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Nada can do to turn this around?
Nada is controlling Kiang's posture.
Nada is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Kiang is trying to control but can't.

Kiang has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Nada is working away from the top position though.
Nada is taking a breather. Kiang says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Kiang is concentrating on defense, preventing Nada from advancing position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Nada shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kiang as he avoids it easily.

Kiang drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Nada wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Kiang with a flurry of punches that miss.
Nada is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kiang controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Way Nada has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Yawa Kiang is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Nada striking off his back but it's not causing Kiang any problems.

Well Kiang has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
