Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Esad Chimaev! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Cal Worthington! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Ben Hemmingworth and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Worthington lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Chimaev circles away quickly and effectively. Chimaev ducks under a wild hook from Worthington. Good shot there by Worthington. A shot to the liver by Worthington. Beautiful body shot. Worthington throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Chimaev sees it coming and avoids it easily. Worthington tries a head kick but it misses.
Chimaev shoots in for a takedown but Worthington shows good takedown defense. Good exchange - Worthington coming out on top. Chimaev uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Worthington.

Chimaev looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Chimaev closes the distance and clinches up with Worthington, looking for a takedown. Chimaev pushes Worthington against the cage but Worthington circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Cal Worthington seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Chimaev dodges the punch combination from Worthington.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chimaev tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Worthington defends well and Chimaev ends up having to push Worthington into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Esad Chimaev. That's going to take a lot out of him. Worthington tries for a takedown. No joy.
Worthington looking for a takedown. Worthington looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Chimaev tries to score a body lock takedown but Worthington shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Worthington tries to break free but Chimaev pushes him back against the cage. Chimaev avoids the elbow strike from Worthington, against the cage.
Worthington wants to take the fight to the mat but Chimaev manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Worthington wants to break free but Chimaev has control.
Worthington creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Chimaev really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Worthington is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Worthington prevents a takedown attempt there.

Chimaev keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Worthington's efforts to push away. Worthington is trying to break the clinch but Chimaev has him pressed against the cage. Chimaev prevents Worthington from breaking the clinch. Worthington escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Worthington misses with a takedown attempt - Chimaev sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Worthington loads up on a big right hand but Chimaev slips the punch. Worthington looks to land a combination but Chimaev avoids it well. Worthington stuffs the takedown attempt from Chimaev. Chimaev gets slowly back to his feet. Worthington tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Worthington keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. A leg kick checked by Chimaev. Cal Worthington is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Worthington defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Chimaev. A jab from Worthington misses. Chimaev changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Chimaev takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Worthington misses with a looping left. Worthington misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Nice straight punches there by Worthington. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Worthington. Chimaev with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Worthington looks for a takedown but Chimaev sprawls well. Worthington looks winded! Chimaev keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Worthington keeps the fight on the outside. Worthington throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Chimaev. Chimaev shoots in but no luck this time. Chimaev dives in for a single leg takedown but Worthington sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Chimaev wants to take the fight to the mat but Worthington manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Worthington is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Chimaev is defending well. Chimaev is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Worthington can't break the clinch.

That's five minutes gone in the round. Chimaev pulls guard effortlessly. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Chimaev is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Worthington rolls with it to try and escape but Chimaev cranks on the arm and Worthington is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
