Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Seamus O Brien (ranked 1096 p4p, 1455 weight class) and Alexei Brovarnik (ranked 146 p4p, 189 weight class). O Brien comes to the cage accompanied by Pantera - The Great Southern Trendkill. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Seamus O Brien! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alexei Brovarnik! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Gregory Folan and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! O Brien scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. O Brien ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. O Brien misses with a hook. Alexei Brovarnik seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. O Brien paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. A telegraphed right hand from O Brien misses the target. Brovarnik looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. O Brien misses with a body shot.
We've been told by O Brien's head coaches at The House Of Pain that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. O Brien throws out a leg kick but Brovarnik moves out of range and O Brien only half commits. Brovarnik tries a head kick but it misses.
Brovarnik throws a sloppy head kick and O Brien moves out of range easily. O Brien swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. O Brien ducks under a wild hook from Brovarnik. Brovarnik turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. O Brien misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Brovarnik.
Brovarnik throws a sloppy head kick and O Brien moves out of range easily. A slow jab from O Brien misses its intended target. O Brien lands a slapping body shot.
Brovarnik throws a lazy uppercut
and O Brien connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
That's one minute gone in the round. O Brien loads up on a big right hand but Brovarnik slips the punch. O Brien lands a leg kick that knocks Brovarnik off balance momentarily. Brovarnik lands with a slapping head kick. O Brien throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Brovarnik takes a swing at O Brien's ribcage but misses. Brovarnik throws a half hearted mid kick. O Brien swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. We've been informed that Brovarnik has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Brovarnik throws a jab when O Brien was well out of range. A quick step to the side and O Brien tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Brovarnik keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Brovarnik throws a lazy uppercut
and O Brien counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Brovarnik defending well as O Brien loads up on a big left hand. Brovarnik on the wrong end of a nice hook. Brovarnik avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Brovarnik takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Brovarnik is rocked!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Brovarnik misses with a wild combination.
O Brien moves out of range as Brovarnik strikes. O Brien throwing a counter right hand but Brovarnik manages to avoid it. A clash of legs there as Brovarnik blocks the low kick. Brovarnik misses with a lunging right hand
and Brovarnik takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Brovarnik is still on wobbly legs! Can O Brien finish him? Brovarnik tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but O Brien was well out of range. Poor timing from Brovarnik. O Brien appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. O Brien takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Brovarnik seems to have recovered his senses. O Brien moves away from the strike by Brovarnik. Jab from O Brien. Brovarnik throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Brovarnik misses with a body punch
enabling O Brien to counter with a crisp jab. O Brien bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. A quick step to the side and O Brien tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Brovarnik thows a body kick. O Brien tries to catch it but that hurt him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A low kick from Brovarnik is predictable there letting O Brien counter with a right hand. O Brien swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A head kick by Brovarnik misses and O Brien counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. BAM! O Brien delivers a spinning backfist that drops Brovarnik like a ragdoll! This is all oooooveeeer! He was out before he hit the ground!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Spinning Backfist). Seamus O Brien! Seamus O Brien decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
