Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kai Rossiter (ranked 2253 p4p, 2410 weight class) and Ron Velderman (ranked 292 p4p, 311 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 21 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, Kai Rossiter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 18 - 9 - 3, fighting out of London, Ron Velderman! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Elvis Blanc and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Velderman throws a hook to the side of Rossiter's head but Rossiter sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Rossiter ducks under a wild hook from Velderman. Velderman throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Rossiter on the side of the head. Velderman takes the fight into the clinch. Rossiter tries to pull guard but Velderman forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Velderman lands a body punch. Rossiter tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Velderman smiles and moves away.
Velderman comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. We've been informed that Velderman has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Good leg kick by Rossiter. Velderman lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Rossiter circles away quickly and effectively. Velderman with a nice cross. Rossiter scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. This has been an exciting period of action! Rossiter thows a huge punch but Velderman dodges it nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Velderman is trying to maintain the position but Rossiter is very close to passing his half guard. Rossiter is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rossiter is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Velderman can do anything to dispel that myth. Rossiter thows a huge punch but Velderman dodges it nicely.
Velderman is trying to control but can't.
Rossiter is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Rossiter seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Velderman is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Kai Rossiter!
