Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Steve Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Masutatsu Oyama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Oyama is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Ghosts N Stuff. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Steve Alves! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Masutatsu Oyama! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shirou Masuda and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Oyama misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Oyama misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Oyama displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Oyama fails to land with a series of punches.
A jab-cross combination lands for Oyama and sends Alves crashing to the mat! Oyama follows him down to the mat - Alves regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!
Alves is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Oyama is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Oh Alves is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Oyama is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Alves manages to get to full guard. Alves seems to have got his legs back now. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alves has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Oyama off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Oyama blocks a jab.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Oyama has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Oyama lands a glancing blow to the side of Alves's head. Oyama misses with a combination
and Alves counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. A telegraphed right hand from Alves misses the target. Alves looks to land a right hand but Oyama moved out of range. Oyama throws a right and a left that Alves avoids nicely. Alves jabbing away but nothing is landing. Alves throws an overhand right that lands on Oyama's shoulder, as Oyama tries to avoid the shot. Oyama swinging wilding here.
Oyama swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Oyama tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Alves lands a really nice looking cross but Oyama seems unphased.
Oyama throws a combination that misses and Alves counters with a three punch combo that has Oyama backing up. Oyama nods at Alves to acknowledge the strikes. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Alves misses with a straight right. Some bone on bone action there as Alves checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Oyama uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Alves. Oyama pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Oyama looks gassed! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. No joy there for Alves, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Oyama needs to keep his hands up - Alves had a free shot at his head there. Alves throws a looping overhand right but Oyama ducks down to avoid it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Masutatsu Oyama will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Good exchange - Alves coming out on top. Oyama throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Masutatsu Oyama seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. No joy there for Alves, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

and Alves counters with a left and a right that hurts Oyama! He wobbles and falls to the floor - he's in big trouble! Alves jumps into full mount!
Oyama is rocked! Alves tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment. Oyama is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alves is standing up, even though he is in mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Oyama throws a sloppy head kick and Alves counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Alves is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. A swing and a miss from Alves. Alves throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Oyama sees it coming and avoids it easily. Alves listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alves connects with a nice looking jab.
Oyama connects with a high kick. Oyama is breathing heavily. Alves connects with a stiff jab that staggers Oyama - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Steve Alves!
