Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sambo Sam (ranked 2202 p4p, 4774 weight class) and Julian Diaz (ranked 286 p4p, 458 weight class). Julian Diaz told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Sambo Sam! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Julian Diaz! The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Some wild striking there from Sam.
Sam looks to throw the jab but Diaz is out of range. Diaz misses with a hook. Sam slips a jab from Diaz. Diaz lands with a right hand. Horrible takedown attempt by Sam or perhaps it was just good defense by Diaz, which made it look bad. Nice defenses there by Sam. Diaz misses the jab. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sam displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Diaz throws out the jab. Sam shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Sam moves away from the strike by Diaz. Diaz misses with a head kick.
Diaz ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Sam moves away. Sam attempts a counter takedown but Diaz avoids it well and moves away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Sam. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sambo Sam. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sam shoots in looking for a takedown but Diaz manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Sam's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Diaz slips a jab and a cross from Sam.
Julian Diaz is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. No luck with that takedown attempt from Sam. Sam fails to land with a series of punches.
As Sam backs off Diaz throws a huge counter combo but Sam manages to avoid it all. Sam avoids the head kick by Diaz.
Sam drops down looking for a counter takedown but Diaz sprawls and moves away. Sambo Sam seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sam throws a right and a left that Diaz avoids nicely. Sam uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Diaz. Sam looking to score a takedown here. Diaz is defending well but Sam drives through and ends up in Diaz's guard. Sam won't allow Diaz to get back to his feet. Diaz is trying to stand and escape. In the scramble, Sam has locked hold of an arm and he's managed to lock on an armbar - Diaz taps out instantly and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Sambo Sam! After the big win, Sambo Sam made sure to do all the important stuff like thanking his sponsors Un-Kaged Nutrition and telling the interviewer how much he loves him.
