Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Merv Ridley! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Glass and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Michaels tries to clinch up but Ridley circles away and keeps his distance. Michaels tries to clinch but Ridley moves out of range. Ridley swats away the attempt to clinch by Michaels. Michaels scores with a hook. Ridley scores with a takedown into Michaels's guard. Ridley controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Ridley drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ridley jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Michaels working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ridley doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ridley manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ridley accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Michaels is looking for a triangle but Ridley pushes his legs off easily.

That's one minute gone in the round. Michaels escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ridley gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Ridley trying to control the position from guard on top but Michaels is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ridley wants to pass the guard but Michaels is keeping the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ridley is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Michaels not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Ridley stands up from Michaels's guard - Ridley perhaps looking for a knockout. Michaels lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ridley circles away quickly and effectively. Michaels shoots and misses and Ridley counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Ridley is keen to just control but Michaels is a slippery customer. Ridley looks gassed! Ridley is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Ridley gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Ridley passes into half guard. Michaels blocking the ground and pound attempt from Ridley.

Michaels is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Ridley pulls his head out easily. Ridley is trying to control the action in half guard but Michaels is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Ridley is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Michaels sees it coming and defends easily. Ridley seems to be working for a kimura but Michaels defends the submission attempt. Michaels looking for submissions from an awkward position here. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Ridley wants to work for an arm triangle but Michaels is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Michaels cracks Ridley with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Michaels tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Ridley decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Michaels's guard. Michaels not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

That's one minute gone in the round. Ridley stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Michaels to get to his feet. Michaels lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Michaels misses with a kick to the body.
Ridley changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Michaels tries to avoid it but Ridley manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Michaels to the ground. Michaels escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Michaels lands a two punch combo.
Michaels tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Ridley counters with a nice double leg into side control. Michaels won't be happy with that. Ridley lands a nice forearm strike. Ridley is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Michaels knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

He has the arm isolated but Michaels is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Michaels struggling a bit here. Ridley creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Michaels sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Ridley trying to control the action but Michaels is working from the bottom. Michaels is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Michaels tries to clinch there but Ridley circles away.
A punch combination from Michaels misses. Ridley closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Michaels works his way to full guard. Good work. Michaels keeping full guard, as Ridley tries to pass. Michaels manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ridley manages to get himself to full guard.

Merv Ridley showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Ridley is keen to just control but Michaels is a slippery customer. Ridley prevents Michaels from standing back up.
