Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rimtas Kentas (ranked 1566 p4p, 1611 weight class) and Bobby Bomstaerk (ranked 215 p4p, 218 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bomstaerk looks for a takedown but Kentas sprawls well.
Kentas misses with a low kick.
Kentas ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Bomstaerk is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Bomstaerk shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Kentas counters with a straight right hand.
No joy there for Kentas, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Kentas lands the left hand.
Bomstaerk fails with a takedown attempt.
Rimtas Kentas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bobby Bomstaerk.
The fighters circling - Kentas throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bomstaerk goes for a double leg but Kentas avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Kentas continues to drive forward.

Kentas uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Bomstaerk has time to react.

Bomstaerk shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kentas pinned against the cage. Kentas gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Kentas lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Bomstaerk takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Bomstaerk walks into a stiff left hand from Kentas.

Kentas lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Bomstaerk takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Bomstaerk has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Kentas is on him like a limpet, forcing Bomstaerk back against the cage.
Kentas lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Kentas goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Kentas tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Bomstaerk's elbow.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Kentas creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Kentas pushes Bomstaerk back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Kentas lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Bomstaerk.

Bomstaerk is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Kentas can't fight it off and eventually Bomstaerk manages to take the fight to the floor. Kentas looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Bomstaerk is in close to Kentas's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Kentas working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bomstaerk doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bomstaerk manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kentas is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Bomstaerk wants to get back to his feet.

Kentas seems to be working for a kimura but Bomstaerk defends the submission attempt.

Kentas is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bomstaerk is just riding it out for now. Kentas eventually gives up the hold.

Kentas seems to be looking for submissions.

Bomstaerk shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kentas as he jumps to the side.

Bomstaerk throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Kentas attempts a counter takedown but Bomstaerk avoids it well and moves away.
Bobby Bomstaerk is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Bomstaerk shoots in looking for a takedown but Kentas manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bomstaerk's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Bomstaerk will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Bomstaerk working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

A quick step to the side and Kentas tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Bomstaerk throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kentas's waist but Kentas gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bomstaerk off to one side.

Kentas fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Bomstaerk looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Kentas circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Bomstaerk to the canvas! Bomstaerk doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Kentas keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!

After winning the bout, Rimtas Kentas thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
