Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Pultti Pyssy (ranked 1801 p4p, 1904 weight class) and Tarrell Newsome (ranked 241 p4p, 250 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pultti Pyssy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 6 - 3 - 1, fighting out of New York, Tarrell Newsome! The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Phil Schofield and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pyssy lands a jab to Newsome's midsection. Pyssy uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Pyssy just misses with a punch to the body.
Newsome moves out of range of the strikes. Pyssy misses the shot to the body. Newsome looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Newsome scores with a hook. Newsome takes one to the side of the head.
Newsome misses with a left hand and Pyssy cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Newsome scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
This has been an exciting period of action! Pyssy throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Pyssy misses with a hook. Newsome ducked under it nicely. Newsome is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Pyssy with a body shot. Newsome moves into the clinch. Newsome just leaning against Pyssy, taking a breather. Newsome lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Newsome lands a hook to the side of the head. Newsome controlling the action here for a moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pyssy has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Newsome avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Newsome misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Newsome tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Pyssy's elbow. Pyssy has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Newsome uses from the top position. Newsome wants to stand but Pyssy is controlling his posture from full guard. Newsome is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pyssy wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Newsome wanted to stand there but Pyssy had control of the position. Pyssy is pulling down on Newsome's head to control his posture.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Newsome throws a hook but Pyssy blocks it. Pyssy tries to counter with a takedown but Newsome is quick to defend against it. Pyssy darts in looking for a takedown but Newsome gets double underhooks and turns Pyssy into the cage. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Newsome! But no joy. Newsome's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pyssy fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Pyssy pulls guard effortlessly. Pyssy pulls Newsome in close to prevent any damage. Newsome would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Pyssy working for a triangle but Newsome defends it easily.
Pyssy is looking for a triangle but Newsome pushes his legs off easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pyssy is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pyssy thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Pyssy wants to work for an arm triangle but Newsome is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Pyssy is looking for a kimura but Newsome is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Pyssy to get the leverage. Pyssy prevents Newsome from improving his position. Newsome is refusing to be controlled, as Pyssy sits in half guard. Pyssy moves nicely into side control. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Pultti Pyssy dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Newsome misses with a right hand and Pyssy connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Pyssy throws a shot to the body.
The fighters circling - Newsome throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Pyssy scores with a nice head shot. Pyssy blocks a jab. Pyssy appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick. Pyssy swings for the body but Newsome moves out of range.
Pyssy uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Newsome. Newsome takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Pyssy is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Newsome can do to turn this around? We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pyssy closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Newsome quickly recovers to half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Pyssy is looking for a kimura here.
Pyssy takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Newsome keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Newsome is looking for a sweep. Pyssy is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Newsome is in trouble now - Pyssy has advanced to mount! Pyssy seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Newsome is holding on tight.
Newsome is squirming around, avoiding Pyssy's attempts to control the action. Newsome holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Pyssy tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Newsome is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pyssy takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Pyssy throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Pyssy has hold of Newsome's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Newsome manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Pyssy punching from mount but Newsome doing a good job of avoiding damage. Pyssy looking for a guillotine from mount but Newsome is having none of it. Newsome defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Pyssy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pyssy controlling the position easily from mount. Pyssy jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Newsome manages to avoid the submission attempt. Pyssy working away. Pyssy looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Pyssy has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Newsome is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Pyssy yanks on the arm and Newsome is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Pyssy.
