The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gouveia tries to clinch up.
Bystrom lunges at Gouveia with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Gouveia's hand.
Gouveia steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Bystrom.
Gouveia feints the counter takedown.
Bystrom lands a nice shot to the body.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bystrom darts in and clinches Gouveia up against the cage.

Gouveia jumps guard but Bystrom stands there with Gouveia around his waist. Gouveia gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Torkel Bystrom has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pascal Gouveia.

Gouveia is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Bystrom is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Bystrom has escaped and now he's on top!

Bystrom tries to stand but Gouveia is controlling from the bottom.

Gouveia is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Bystrom defends well.

Gouveia is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Gouveia really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bystrom. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Bystrom thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Bystrom stands and steps away. Gouveia gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Gouveia is fighting off a takedown attempt but Bystrom is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Gouveia to the mat. Gouveia regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

It seemed like Gouveia was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bystrom cracks Gouveia with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Gouveia looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Bystrom finish him?
A jab lands there for Bystrom.
