Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joe Cole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Quentin Cane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cole comes to the cage accompanied by Wonderfull Days. Cane has chosen Alice In Chains - Man In The Box as his entrance music. Joe Cole is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cole fails with an attempt to clinch.
Cole fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Cane throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Cole tries for a takedown but Cane sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Cole shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Cane as he avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Cole. That's going to take a lot out of him. A slapping leg kick lands for Cane.

Cole closes this distance looking for a takedown but Cane circles away. Cane closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Cole is looking for a sweep. Cane is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Cane in particular looking to stall. Cole wants to improve his position but Cane is controlling well.

Cane keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Cole looking for subs from the bottom but Cane mounts him! Cane lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Cane is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Cole is surviving well by controlling Cane's body position as best he can. Cole is trying desperately to improve position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Cane wants to control the pace but Cole is squirming around nicely. Cole is in all sorts of trouble here.

It looks like he's just sitting there. Cole trying to get back to full guard but Cane takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Cane tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Cane scoring with strikes but Cole is staying in there. Cane lands a big shot there that rocks Cole but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Cane sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Cane breaks from Cole's wrist control and lands an elbow.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cane controlling the position easily from mount. Cane prevents Cole from getting the reversal. Cane looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Cole bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Cole drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Cane manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Cole has Cane in his guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cole working for submissions but it's allowed Cane to get to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Cole tries to roll over but Cane keeps him under control. Cane is taking a breather. Cole says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Cole wants to get back to full guard but Cane has passed into side control. Cane controlling the pace for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Cole is wriggling around trying to escape.

Despite being in the dominant position, Quentin Cane just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Cole tries for a takedown but Cane circles away easily and Cane counters with a low kick, right behind Cole 's knee. A chopping leg kick lands by Cane. Cane lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Cane throws a sloppy head kick and Cole moves out of range easily. Cane scores with a leg kick.

and Cane counters with a right hand to the body. Cole shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Cane counters with a low kick, right behind Cole 's knee. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Cane throws a quick inside leg kick. Cane plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
It looks like Joe Cole has been cut. Cane turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Quentin Cane showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Joe Cole's cut. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Cane throws a combination. Cole tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Cole shoots and misses and Cane counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Cole's guard now. Cane sitting in guard here, content to control. Cane avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. A decent looking cross lands there for Cane. Cane shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Cane wants to stand up but Cole is controlling the position.
Cane is figuring out what he wants to do next. Cole is trying to get back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cole is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Cane's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Cane's back! Cole seems to be going for a rear naked choke. He has an arm under Cane's chin but Cane turns very nicely into Cole's guard. Good BJJ skills being displayed there by Cane.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Cole is on top in guard.

Cane has his hands on Cole's head, controlling the position. Cole throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Joe Cole has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Cole throws a combination that misses and Cane counters with a takedown into side control.
And that's the end of the fight! Quentin Cane comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Cane has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
