Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Todd Waters (ranked 4220 p4p, 4187 weight class) and Geno Lawson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Todd Waters! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Geno Lawson! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lawson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Waters manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Waters tries a head kick but it misses.
Lawson lands a jab-cross combination. Waters shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Lawson has one foot on Waters's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Lawson fails with a takedown attempt. Waters changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Lawson throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Lawson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Waters tries to avoid it but Lawson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Waters to the ground. Waters escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Lawson misses with a body kick. Lawson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Lawson wants to sweep but no luck.
That's one minute gone in the round. Waters is pushing down on Lawson's leg trying to pass to half guard. Lawson is fighting to maintain full guard but Waters has managed to sneak the leg through. Lawson trying to hold on to Waters's head to control him but Waters postures up.
Waters is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Waters is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Lawson! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lawson takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Waters is landing with some decent strikes but Lawson is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Waters lands a couple of good shots and Lawson has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Waters scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Lawson is looking for a way out. Lawson wants to control his opponent's hands but Waters gets his hands free. Waters scores with punches from the back.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Waters working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Lawson is doing well to defend. Waters seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Lawson is forced to tap and this one is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Todd Waters!
