The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Francisco ducks right into an uppercut from Mai Ni.
Francisco tries to clinch up.
Francisco pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Mai Ni stuffs the takedown.
Francisco misses with a leg kick.
Mai Ni lands with a good body shot.

Francisco shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Francisco wants to control from the top but Mai Ni keeps moving.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Francisco tried to score with a low kick but Mai Ni checks it.

It looks like Joao Francisco has been cut.
Bang Mai Ni is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Francisco tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Francisco walks into a jab.
Francisco needs to keep his hands up - Mai Ni had a free shot at his head there.
Mai Ni throws a low kick, looking for Francisco's leg but Francisco calmly moves out of range.
Francisco seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Francisco dives in and grabs Mai Ni's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mai Ni pushes down on Francisco's head and hops out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joao Francisco. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mai Ni slaps away a takedown attempt from Francisco, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Francisco takes a swing at Mai Ni's ribcage but misses.
Francisco tries to close the distance and clinch but Mai Ni swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Mai Ni's jab looks to have found its range, popping Francisco under the eye.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Francisco shoots in for a takedown but Mai Ni shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Francisco misses with a few strikes there.

Francisco takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Nice jab there from Mai Ni.

Francisco is rocked!
Francisco walks into a straight right, dropping him to the canvas! Mai Ni swarms him and finishes the fight with a hail of punches! What a brutal finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Bang Mai Ni!
