Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Leonard Nimoy (ranked 1444 p4p, 1143 weight class) and Derrick Lewis (ranked 213 p4p, 169 weight class). Derrick Lewis looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 18 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Leonard Nimoy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 17 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Derrick Lewis! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice uppercut lands for Nimoy. That snapped Lewis's head back.
It looks like Derrick Lewis has been cut. A looping hook to the body misses from Nimoy. Lewis does a little dance to reset his feet. Nimoy throws a lazy right hand but Lewis sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Nimoy misses with an attempted mid kick.
Lewis is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Nimoy's half guard. Nimoy is defending against the submission attempts here by Lewis.
Lewis is looking for a kimura but Nimoy is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Lewis to get the leverage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lewis stalling away here and it's allowed Nimoy to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Nimoy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lewis on the ground. Nimoy looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Lewis puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lewis is working for a kimura but Nimoy is defending it quite comfortably.
Nimoy wants to control but Lewis is keeping busy.
Nimoy looks like he's trying to stand up.
Nimoy is looking for a sweep. Lewis is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Lewis wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nimoy keeps working. Nimoy is trying to escape back to his feet but Lewis uses the scramble to pass into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Lewis wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Nimoy, who protects the arm well. Lewis looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Lewis in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Nimoy is looking to regain half guard here but Lewis keeps moving and retains side control. Nimoy is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now. Lewis moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nimoy is trying to improve his position. Nimoy wants to control but Lewis postures up. Nimoy is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Lewis is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Nimoy is just riding it out for now. Lewis eventually gives up the hold. Nimoy gets full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Lewis wants to control from the top but Nimoy keeps moving. Lewis is pushing down on Nimoy's leg trying to pass to half guard. Nimoy is fighting to maintain full guard but Lewis has managed to sneak the leg through. Lewis looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Lewis is looking for a kimura here.
Lewis is trying to control. Nimoy wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Derrick Lewis dominated that round. The cut man is working on Derrick Lewis's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Lewis wants to clinch. Lewis closes the distance looking to clinch and Nimoy counters with a nice body shot. Lewis shoots in and drives through. Nimoy sprawls well. Nimoy appears to be looking for a big counter. Nimoy throws a push kick but Lewis slaps the foot to one side. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lewis takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
We've been told by Nimoy's head coaches at Desert Fitness & Training (14 Elite Coaches) that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Lewis gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Lewis drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Nimoy gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Nimoy pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lewis fails in his attempt to clinch. Lewis takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Nimoy uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Lewis has time to react. Nimoy lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Lewis is rocked! Nimoy throws an uppercut from hell that sends Lewis clean off his feet! He's out cold! Nimoy stands back and admires his work as he thinks about that KO of the night award that is surely being wrapped up for him back stage.
