Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Leyte Gulf (ranked 378 p4p, 467 weight class) and Ben Reed (ranked 60 p4p, 75 weight class). Gulf comes to the cage accompanied by For Heavy Metal we will die!. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Leyte Gulf!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 16 - 3, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ben Reed!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Shigeki Fujiwara and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reed throws a hook to the side of Gulf's head but Gulf sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Nice uppercut lands for Reed. That snapped Gulf's head back.
Reed throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Reed is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Reed cracks Gulf with an open hand slap.
Reed pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Reed has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Reed takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Gulf looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Gulf connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ben Reed seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Still in the clinch, Reed scores with a nice short uppercut.

Reed escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Reed swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Reed connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Reed throws a head kick but Gulf moves out of range.

Reed misses with an attempted mid kick.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Reed crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Gulf - the referee stops the clock and Reed gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Gulf. Reed manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Gulf jabs Reed right on the nose. Reed blinks but takes it well.
Reed throws a head kick but Gulf moves out of range.
Gulf is looking to counter punch.
Gulf cracks Reed with a right hand to the side of the head.
Gulf takes a kick to the side of the head.
Reed throws a lazy right hand but Gulf sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Gulf slips a jab from Reed.
Gulf tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Reed paws at him with a jab and circles away.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gulf swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Gulf takes a kick to the side of the head.
Reed throws a hook but Gulf avoids it easily.
Reed throws a leg kick but Gulf sees it coming and moves out of range.
Reed walks into a jab.
Reed avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Reed throws a nice outside leg kick.
Gulf throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Reed throws a hook but Gulf avoids it easily.
Gulf tries to clinch but Reed is having none of it.
A nice leg kick lands there from Gulf.
A punch combination from Gulf misses.
A chopping leg kick lands by Reed.

Reed misses with a looping right.
Reed is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Gulf.
Gulf appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.

Gulf lets loose with a powerful body kick. Reed will feel that in the morning.
Reed on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Gulf throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Reed takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Gulf tries to clinch but Reed moves out of range.
Reed shapes to counter with a head kick.
Gulf throws a looping overhand right but Reed ducks down to avoid it.
It's a brutal combination of punches from Gulf! Reed is backing up but he can't get away as Gulf lands with one final shot to the jaw that drops Reed and ends the fight. Great knockout.

During a confident post fight interview, Leyte Gulf thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
