Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sammy Nyla (ranked 739 p4p, 2011 weight class) and Phil Rivers (ranked 105 p4p, 258 weight class). Rivers is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by RUNNING IN THE 90â€™s. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rivers misses with a looping left.
Rivers loads up on a big right hand but Nyla slips the punch.
Nyla throws a hook but Rivers avoids it easily.
We've been told by Nyla's head coaches at Crapollas Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Rivers swings widly with a right hand
and Nyla counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Rivers pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Nyla back to the cage. Rivers follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Rivers misses with a few strikes there.
Rivers steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Nyla.
Rivers takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Nyla throws a hook to the side of Rivers's head but Rivers sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Rivers throws a nice looking combination but Nyla bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
No joy there for Rivers, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

It looked like Nyla wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Rivers fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Nyla manages to avoid it.

Nyla has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Nyla takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Rivers rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Nyla counters with a crisp right that sends Rivers to the canvas! Nyla follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!
