Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Yoshida Katamichi (ranked 2990 p4p, 2613 weight class) and Grip Schnieder (ranked 382 p4p, 345 weight class). Grip Schnieder has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yoshida Katamichi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Grip Schnieder! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Marco Blurström and Arvi Lind.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schnieder moves in looking to clinch but Katamichi pushes him off. Schnieder takes a shot right to the bread basket. Schnieder gets a double leg takedown into Katamichi's guard. Katamichi tries to land a sweep but no joy. Katamichi throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Schnieder trying to control the position from guard on top but Katamichi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Schnieder stopping the sweep attempt from Katamichi. Katamichi has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Katamichi shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Schnieder's guard. Katamichi throws an elbow that misses. Schnieder uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Katamichi's guard. Nice move by Schnieder! Katamichi throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Katamichi throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Schnieder's waist but Schnieder gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Katamichi off to one side. Schnieder closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Katamichi quickly recovers to half guard. Katamichi moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Schnieder trying to control but Katamichi is working from the bottom. Katamichi wants to sweep but no luck. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Katamichi keeping moving, preventing Schnieder from controlling successfully. Schnieder looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Schnieder working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Katamichi's head.

Schnieder has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Katamichi is on top in guard.

Grip Schnieder dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Schnieder has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! You can see the frustration on Katamichi's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The strikes coming from Schnieder are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Katamichi is trying to control Schnieder's posture but Schnieder avoids it. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Katamichi stands and throws Schnieder's legs to the side, diving into side control. Katamichi lands an elbow. Katamichi gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Schnieder to score an easy takedown into full guard. Katamichi had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Schnieder defends it easily. Katamichi tries to land a sweep but no joy. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Schnieder's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Schnieder advances position into side control! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Katamichi is not content to let Schnieder control the position. Schnieder throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Katamichi works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
And that's the end of the fight! Yoshida Katamichi showed his dominance in that final round. I think Schnieder has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
