Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Barry Bass (ranked 24049 p4p, 4421 weight class) and Nick Dalton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Barry Bass! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 23 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nick Dalton! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, William Peck and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling each other endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive. Dalton drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Dalton stands up and waves to Bass to follow him. Bass gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bass looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Bass has his foot on Dalton's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Dalton works his way back into a safe position though. Bass working a defensive guard here.
Bass is working an open guard so Dalton takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Dalton shoots in and gets a takedown into Bass's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dalton got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bass has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dalton has managed to get both his arms back between Bass's legs - danger averted. Bass really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Bass had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Dalton defends it easily. Bass working for submissions but it's allowed Dalton to get to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Dalton decides to stand back up. Dalton steps back and let's Bass get back to his feet. Dalton closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Bass's guard. Dalton stands up and waves to Bass to follow him. Dalton gets a takedown into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Bass is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Dalton decides to stand up. Dalton shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bass's guard. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Nick Dalton dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Dalton gets a takedown into half guard. Bass looking for subs from the bottom but Dalton mounts him! Dalton has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Dalton stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nice takedown defense from Dalton. No joy for Bass on that attempt. Dalton looking to score a takedown here. Bass is defending well but Dalton drives through and ends up in Bass's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bass working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Dalton has passed into half guard!

Let's see what he's got on the ground. Nick Dalton has got the better of the ground game so far. Dalton postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Bass to stand up. Bass tries to score a power double leg takedown but Dalton sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bass somewhat. Dalton tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bass gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Bass wants to sweep here but Dalton controlling him for the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Bass throws his legs up looking for a submission but Dalton uses it to pass to side control.
Dalton stands up and beckons Bass to his feet. Dalton gets caught napping as Bass dives in and scores a takedown. Dalton manages to retain guard. Dalton wriggles free and stands up. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Nick Dalton showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round! Dalton displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Bass. Dalton feints the counter takedown. Bass tries to sprawl but Dalton drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Dalton wants to stand but Bass has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Dalton moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Bass. Bass is looking for a sweep. Dalton stands up. Dalton gets a takedown into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bass trying to control but Dalton postures up.
Bass is trying to get back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bass looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Dalton decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Dalton shoots in and bounces Bass off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Bass is trying to keep Dalton in close.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Bass looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Dalton puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bass trying to get back to full guard but Dalton takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Bass is trying to escape the mount.
Bass tries to control the position but Dalton now has his back.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Dalton has the hooks in. Bass is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Dalton controlling the position well here. Bass rolled but Dalton kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Barry Bass has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Dalton is hanging on to Bass's back as he tries to escape.
And that's the end of the fight! Nick Dalton comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Dalton has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Nick Dalton! Nick Dalton spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
