This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the welterweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Hilo, with a TWGC record of 13 wins and 12 losses; Ken Vrjalya! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, with a TWGC record of 5 wins and 3 losses; Zima Voin! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Daniel Cesar and Luis Engracia.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Vrjalya tries to score a power double leg takedown but Voin sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Vrjalya somewhat. Vrjalya darts in looking for a takedown but Voin gets double underhooks and turns Vrjalya into the cage. Voin is looking to take this one to the mat. Voin goes for a takedown attempt but Vrjalya pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Vrjalya shoots in but Voin avoids the takedown attempt easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ken Vrjalya. That's going to take a lot out of him. Voin clinches up against the cage. Voin is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Vrjalya can't fight it off and eventually Voin manages to take the fight to the floor. Vrjalya looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. You can see the frustration on Vrjalya's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
