Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Hiroshi Gomi (ranked 20927 p4p, 4511 weight class) and Lee Shayworth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gomi's entrance music is The Only Thing The Fear is You- DOOM Eternal OST. A fine choice. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hiroshi Gomi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lee Shayworth! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Gregory Folan and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gomi throws a looping overhand right but Shayworth ducks down to avoid it. Shayworth raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. Gomi slaps away a takedown attempt from Shayworth, before circling back to the center of the mat. Gomi punishes Shayworth's body with a nice straight punch. Shayworth shoots in but no luck this time. Gomi is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Shayworth plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! A slow jab from Gomi misses its intended target. Gomi missing with a left hand there. Shayworth was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. A jab from Gomi misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shayworth bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. It seemed like Shayworth was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Shayworth slips a jab and a cross from Gomi.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A frustrated look appears on Gomi's face as he tries to break the clinch. Gomi wants to get back to striking at distance but Shayworth won't allow it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shayworth tries to pull guard but Gomi forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Hiroshi Gomi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lee Shayworth. Shayworth keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Gomi's efforts to push away. Gomi tries to break the clinch but Shayworth is controlling the position. Gomi wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Shayworth has him pressed against the cage. Gomi looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Shayworth keeps control of Gomi as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Gomi wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Gomi is looking to break free of the clinch but Shayworth has double underhooks. Gomi is trying to force a seperation but Shayworth has the dominant position. Stalling in the clinch from Shayworth.

Shayworth is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Shayworth prevents Gomi from breaking the clinch. Gomi wants to break the clinch but can't.

Hiroshi Gomi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Shayworth shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Gomi but Gomi pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Shayworth slips a jab and a cross from Gomi.

Shayworth is rocked! Shayworth walks straight into a right hand from Gomi - that's dropped him! Gomi jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Shayworth from any more punishment! Shayworth complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
