Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Melvin Tate (ranked 4038 p4p, 3236 weight class) and Avgust Petukhov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Melvin Tate!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Avgust Petukhov!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Stewart Dunkirk and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Petukhov tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Tate swivels and escapes.
Tate throws a right and a left that Petukhov avoids nicely.
Tate looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Tate misses with an uppercut. Petukhov saw that one coming.
Petukhov shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Petukhov fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Tate sprawls well initially but Petukhov persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Tate might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Petukhov cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Tate is rocked!
It looks like Melvin Tate has been cut.
Petukhov looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Tate covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Avgust Petukhov!
After winning the bout, Avgust Petukhov thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
