Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roman Ship (ranked 2688 p4p, 2358 weight class) and Tom Tomson (ranked 127 p4p, 69 weight class). Roman Ship has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 21 - 0, fighting out of London, Roman Ship!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tom Tomson!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Percy O'Donnell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tomson keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Tomson jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Ship steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Tomson.
The crowd cheers as Tomson lands an impressive looking overhand right. Ship doesn't seem phased though.

Ship has been working on his balance at Deathsquad, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Tomson.

and Ship counters with a shoot takedown. Tomson fights it but they end up in guard.
Ship postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Tomson is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Ship, into his guard.
Tomson stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Tomson tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Ship is able to avoid easily.
Tomson slips a straight right by Ship.
Tomson looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

so Ship counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Roman Ship overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Ship is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Roman Ship's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
