Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Uladzimir Prokopenko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Haruki Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Chris Edwards and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Prokopenko closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Johnson's guard.
Johnson has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Prokopenko wants to control from the top but Johnson keeps moving.
Johnson looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Prokopenko throws his legs up looking for a submission but Johnson uses it to pass to side control.

Prokopenko is looking to get back to full guard here but Johnson has managed to pass to side control instead.

Johnson's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Johnson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Prokopenko. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Johnson has the hooks in. Prokopenko is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Prokopenko turns into Johnson and is now in his guard.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Prokopenko goes for a double leg but Johnson avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Johnson continues to drive forward.
Johnson throws a head punch that misses.

I was talking to Prokopenko's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Johnson stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

Prokopenko shoots for a takedown but Johnson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Johnson throws out a counter right but Prokopenko avoids it with no problem.
Johnson's corner calls for a 1-2. Johnson obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Uladzimir Prokopenko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Johnson counters with a crisp right hand that drops Prokopenko! Johnson lets Prokopenko back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Uladzimir Prokopenko. That's going to take a lot out of him.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Prokopenko shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Johnson as he jumps to the side.
Johnson drops Prokopenko with a naaaaasty hook - Prokopenko is in real trouble here! Johnson dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
