This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 4 wins and 9 losses; Volodymyr Kersikov! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Sydney, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 5 losses; Gordon Plant! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, William Peck and Elvis Blanc.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Kersikov shoots for a takedown but Plant saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Plant tries to counter by closing the distance. Kersikov shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Plant doesn't manage to clinch there - Kersikov circles away.
Plant moves into the clinch. Plant goes for a takedown attempt but Kersikov pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Plant tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Volodymyr Kersikov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kersikov changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Plant tries to avoid it but Kersikov manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Plant to the ground. Plant clinches up with Kersikov and pushes him back against the cage. Kersikov gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Plant.

Plant tries to control but Kersikov wriggling away. Plant fails to move to back control. Plant takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Kersikov prevents Plant from taking his back.

Kersikov is squirming around, avoiding Plant's attempts to control the action. Kersikov tries to get back to half guard but can't. Plant is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Kersikov is surviving well by controlling Plant's body position as best he can. Plant is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kersikov is just riding it out for now. Plant eventually gives up the hold. The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Kersikov is refusing to be controlled, as Plant sits in half guard. Kersikov keeps control of the position for the meantime. Plant seems to be looking for submissions.

Kersikov is fighting to break Plant's control of his arms but Plant is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Plant is trying to keep Kersikov in close.
