Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? Gaul closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Jack to the mat! Jack manages to get full guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Gaul (2) vs (0) Jack Gaul not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Jack is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Gaul defends well. Jack keeping full guard, as Gaul tries to pass. Jack had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Gaul defends it easily. Jack looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jack looking for a guillotine here but Gaul defends easily.

Gaul engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Jack is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Gaul has his hands clasped together but Jack extends and breaks Gaul's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Jack.
