Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Kova Luu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bert Newton!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Fedor Mirinova and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Luu misses with a head kick.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Newton.
Bert Newton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Newton shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Luu makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Newton darts in looking for a takedown but Luu gets double underhooks and turns Newton into the cage.
Kova Luu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bert Newton.

I was talking to Luu's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
