Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Matija Maestro (ranked 114 p4p, 2094 weight class) and Eddie Wilson (ranked 14 p4p, 199 weight class). Maestro's entrance music is Shortwire - Reconfig. A fine choice. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 16 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Matija Maestro! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Eddie Wilson! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Jorge Garcia and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Maestro misses with a two punch combination.
Wilson ducks under a wild hook from Maestro. A nice side step and Wilson releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Maestro misses the jab. Wilson goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Wilson lands the left hand. Wilson tries to clinch and Maestro counters with a nice uppercut. Wilson gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Wilson misses with a leg kick and Maestro counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Wilson is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Wilson is defending well against a takedown attempt. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Wilson tries a knee to the head but Maestro blocks it.

Maestro has clasped his hands together around Wilson's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Wilson looking for a sweep but Maestro has passed into full mount! Oh no! Maestro working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Wilson turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Maestro off and cradles Wilson's limp body as Maestro celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Matija Maestro! Matija Maestro is the new featherweight champion! Our winner, Matija Maestro, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
