Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rock Romero (ranked 439 p4p, 876 weight class) and Caio Carvalho (ranked 58 p4p, 119 weight class). Carvalho comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Pentagono - É o Moio kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Romero missing with a left hand there. Carvalho was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Romero has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Finch Gym in the buildup to the fight.
Romero ducks under a wild hook from Carvalho.

so Carvalho counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

My spies in Glory 4 Boxing inform me that Carvalho has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Carvalho accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Carvalho drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Carvalho seems to have locked his on tight now - Romero screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Carvalho, as he picks up the win!
