Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Yawa Kiang (ranked 24540 p4p, 24380 weight class) and Wala Sapi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yawa Kiang is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 10 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yawa Kiang! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 8 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wala Sapi! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Kiang gets a takedown into half guard. Sapi wants to control but Kiang is keeping busy and won't allow it. Kiang performing his best blanket impression for a moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sapi wants to control the action here but instead Kiang manages to pass to full mount! Sapi is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Kiang content just to control the position here. Sapi sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Sapi is doing well to control the position and prevent Kiang from advancing to side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kiang performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Kiang's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Sapi tries to get to full guard but Kiang has control of the leg.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Kiang looks for a takedown but Sapi sprawls well. Sapi steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect. Kiang will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Sapi steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect. Kiang closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sapi struggling a bit here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Sapi manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Yawa Kiang dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Kiang tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Sapi defends well and Kiang ends up having to push Sapi into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Sapi counters with a body kick. Sapi has Kiang pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Sapi pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Kiang tumbling to the mat - Sapi dives into Kiang's guard. Kiang looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kiang wants to improve his position but instead Sapi has moved into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sapi wants to pass to mount but Kiang is defending the position. Kiang wants to get back to full guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Sapi in particular looking to stall. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Sapi shoots for a double leg takedown but Kiang sprawls well. He's pushed Sapi's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Kiang closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Sapi quickly recovers to half guard. Sapi holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Sapi is trying to maintain the position but Kiang is very close to passing his half guard. Sapi is trying to get back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kiang keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Sapi keeping hold of Kiang's head, controlling as best he can. Yawa Kiang overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Kiang perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Kiang shoots in but Sapi avoids the takedown attempt easily. Sapi is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Sapi looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Wala Sapi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Kiang fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Sapi sprawls well initially but Kiang persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Kiang controlling the action here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sapi is looking to control Kiang's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Sapi avoid being mounted?
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Sapi tries to roll over but Kiang keeps him under control. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Sapi trying to hold on to Kiang's head to control him but Kiang postures up.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Sapi throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Kiang tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Sapi is in Kiang's guard. Sapi's corner is telling him to maintain position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sapi wants to control from the top but Kiang keeps moving. Kiang lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Sapi pulls Kiang in close to prevent any damage. Kiang looking to sit in guard and control but Sapi gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kiang has Sapi pulled in close to control his posture. Sapi sitting in guard, not really doing much.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Yawa Kiang. I think Kiang has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
