The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Phelps rushes Saulo and presses him up against the cage.
A body shot lands from Saulo.
Phelps is trying to break the clinch but Saulo is controlling him.
Saulo lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Saulo scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Saulo misses with a punch to the body.
Phelps is trying to maintain a safe position but Saulo gets an underhook and turns Phelps into the cage.
Phelps drops down looking for an ankle pick but Saulo pulls his leg out and moves away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Saulo is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Phelps tries to pull guard but Saulo forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Phelps is looking to control Saulo's arms but Saulo gets an underhook and turns him. Now Phelps has his back to the cage.
Phelps tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Saulo smiles and moves away.

Saulo moves into range and clinches up with Phelps.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

It looks like Mike Phelps has been cut.
Saulo lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Phelps backwards.
Phelps can't find room to land a body shot as Saulo controls the action.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Saulo unloads a knee to the mid-section.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Saulo.
Saulo jerks Phelps's head down, straight into the path of a devastating knee! Phelps drops to the floor in a crumpled heap! Saulo goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Saulo because Phelps was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.
