And in the blue corner, fighting out of Hilo, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 0 losses; Sero Trdatyan! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Gregory Folan and Ian Loll.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Blaird moves into the clinch. Trdatyan looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Blaird manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Blaird holds on and takes a little breather. Blaird escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Trdatyan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Blaird looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Blaird manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Trdatyan manages to get himself to full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Blaird is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Trdatyan defends it well. Blaird is trying to work for a kimura but Trdatyan is defending well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Blaird controlling the action here. Blaird looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Blaird wants to finish this one by submission but Trdatyan is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Blaird.

Blaird is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Trdatyan is surviving well by controlling Blaird's body position as best he can. Blaird controlling the position easily from mount.
That's eleven minutes gone in the round. Blaird has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Trdatyan is controlling an arm, preventing Blaird from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
