Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Andre Hackl (ranked 2164 p4p, 2511 weight class) and Shaun Brownie (ranked 295 p4p, 343 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Andre Hackl!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 25 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shaun Brownie!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Ben Hemmingworth and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hackl looks to land a right hand but Brownie moved out of range.
An inside leg kick lands from Hackl.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Brownie checks a leg kick.
Hackl gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Hackl takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Hackl will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Hackl cracks Brownie with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Hackl changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Hackl thows a leg kick but Brownie checks it
and Brownie connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
A combination from Brownie does no damage.
Hackl swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Brownie punishes Hackl's body with a nice straight punch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hackl feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Brownies jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Hackl misses with a hook. Brownie ducked under it nicely.
Brownie will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Brownie moves to clinch but Hackl breaks away
and Hackl counters with a nice uppercut.
Brownie paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A telegraphed right hand from Hackl misses the target.
Brownie looks to throw the jab but Hackl is out of range.
We've been told by Hackl's head coaches at BronkĀ“s GYM that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Hackl misses the jab.
Brownie swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Hackl was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Brownie misses with a jab, cross combination.
Brownie connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
A big left from Brownie misses.
Brownie takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Hackl throws a predictable looking body shot
and Brownie counters with a left to the body.

Brownie drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Brownie tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Brownie has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Brownie throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The ground and pound from Brownie seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Brownie tries to score with some ground and pound. Hackl controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Hackl is looking to regain half guard here but Brownie keeps moving and retains side control.
Brownie postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Hackl is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
The strikes coming from Brownie are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Brownie has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Brownie is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Brownie misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Brownie cracks Hackl with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Brownie scores with punches from side control.
Hackl is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Brownie is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Hackl on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Hackl tries to get out of the position.
Brownie scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Brownie postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Hackl looks a forlorn figure.
Brownie prevents Hackl from getting the reversal.
Hackl takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Hackl is rocked!
Hackl knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Brownie on the ground.
Brownie cracks Hackl with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Shaun Brownie!
Shaun Brownie decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
