The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Daniel Cesar and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santa throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Degano tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Santa is in Degano's guard.
Degano not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Degano working a defensive guard but Santa passes into half guard.
Degano is trying to control but Santa passes into side control!
Degano tries to bench press Santa off him but Santa keeps the position.
A lull in the action here.
Santa has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Degano tries to control but Santa manages to take his back.
