5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, King Emelianenko! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vlad Moskoff! The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Fedor Mirinova and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Emelianenko gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Emelianenko wants to improve his position but instead Moskoff has moved into half guard.
Emelianenko is refusing to be controlled, as Moskoff sits in half guard. Emelianenko wants to get back to full guard. Emelianenko tries to kick Moskoff off in order to stand up. Moskoff Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control. Moskoff is looking to take a break and control but Emelianenko is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Emelianenko is looking for a sweep.
That's one minute gone in the round.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Moskoff wants to clinch up but Emelianenko keeps it at a distance. Moskoff shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Emelianenko's guard. Emelianenko keeping moving, preventing Moskoff from controlling successfully. Emelianenko throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Emelianenko looking to hit a scissor sweep but Moskoff is one step ahead there. Moskoff postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Emelianenko looking to control but Moskoff passes into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Emelianenko flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Emelianenko slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Moskoff working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Emelianenko tries to land a sweep but no joy. Moskoff thows a big elbow that misses. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Emelianenko is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Emelianenko is breathing heavily. Emelianenko keeping moving, preventing Moskoff from controlling successfully. Emelianenko working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Moskoff has passed into half guard!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Emelianenko tries to get to full guard but Moskoff has control of the leg. Moskoff works his foot free and advances to mount. Moskoff wants to control the pace but Emelianenko is squirming around nicely. Moskoff swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
