PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Man Azroi (ranked 4566 p4p, 4502 weight class) and Ser Pent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Francis DeMontford and Ron Honeybunn.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Azroi throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Pent counters with a nice uppercut.
A combination from Pent does no damage.
Azroi takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Azroi gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Pent counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Azroi tries for a takedown but Pent circles away easily
and Pent counters with a nice uppercut.
Pent is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

Azroi rushes Pent and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Azroi has Pent pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Pent manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Pent pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Azroi back to the cage. Pent follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Pent takes a kick to the side of the head.
Azroi rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Pent counters with a left and a right that stings Azroi.
Azroi closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Azroi.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Pent! But no joy.
Azroi shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Pent as he jumps to the side.

Pent lands a body shot.
Azroi shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Pent but Pent pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Azroi needs to keep his hands up - Pent had a free shot at his head there.

Pent avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Azroi closes this distance looking for a takedown but Pent circles away.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

A little jabbing left from Pent on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Nice straight punches there by Pent. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Pent.
Pent connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Pent changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Man Azroi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Pent is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Man Azroi is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Azroi moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Pent, as that shot connected.

Ser Pent seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Azroi shoots in looking for a takedown. Pent tries to sprawl out of it but Azroi keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Pent manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Azroi shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Pent as he jumps to the side.
Azroi looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Ser Pent showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Azroi fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Pent avoids it really well and circles away.
Ser Pent is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Pent bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Azroi's head backwards.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Pent connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Man Azroi has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
