Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Xerxes Whittaker (ranked 5107 p4p, 5435 weight class) and Dieter Holben (ranked 475 p4p, 492 weight class). Holben has chosen Megadeth - Symphony of Destruction as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Xerxes Whittaker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Dieter Holben!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Josh West and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holben moves out of range of the strikes.
Whittaker has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Cozad MMA New York in the buildup to the fight.
Holben throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Whittaker paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Whittaker dodges the punch combination from Holben.
Holben takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
It looks like Xerxes Whittaker has been cut.
Xerxes Whittaker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Whittaker misses the jab.
Holben bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Whittaker sneaks out the side door and pushes Holben away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Nice uppercut there from Whittaker.
Holben closes the distance and clinches up with Whittaker, looking for a takedown. Holben pushes Whittaker against the cage but Whittaker circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Whittaker dances in with a quick combination. Holben is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Whittaker snaps Holben's head back. Holben stumbles backwards against the cage. Whittaker steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Holben's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Holben just didn't come prepared.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Xerxes Whittaker!
Xerxes Whittaker was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
