Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joe Johnson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Prince Buckleberry! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Damien Edna and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Buckleberry throws a head kick that Johnson semi-blocks.
It looks like Joe Johnson has been cut. Johnson tries to clinch but Buckleberry moves out of range. Johnson tries to close the distance and clinch but Buckleberry swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Buckleberry throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Good standup being displayed there by Johnson as he connects with a hook. Johnson tries to clinch but Buckleberry moves out of range. Johnson clinches up with Buckleberry and pushes him back against the cage. Buckleberry is trying to maintain a safe position but Johnson gets an underhook and turns Buckleberry into the cage. Johnson creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Buckleberry is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Johnson just misses with a elbow thrown towards Buckleberry's brow. Johnson tries to land knees in the clinch but Buckleberry avoids the damage to the body. Buckleberry trying to control the position but instead, Johnson has worked for underhooks and has pushed Buckleberry into the cage. Johnson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Buckleberry closes the distance and clinches up with Johnson, looking for a takedown. Buckleberry pushes Johnson against the cage but Johnson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Johnson is looking to clinch but Buckleberry is avoiding it.
Johnson scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Buckleberry fails in his attempt to clinch. Johnson instigates a clinch. Johnson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Johnson throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
It looks like Prince Buckleberry has been cut. Johnson bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Buckleberry's head. Johnson takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Buckleberry lands a high kick to the side of Johnson's head that stuns him and send him tumbling down to the canvas! Buckleberry dives into guard, looking to finish. Buckleberry trying to control but Johnson is working from the bottom. Buckleberry drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Buckleberry jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Buckleberry pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Johnson is keeping the position for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Buckleberry trying to control the position from guard on top but Johnson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Buckleberry works a leg free and moves into half guard. Buckleberry is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Johnson defends it well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Buckleberry is looking to take a break and control but Johnson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Buckleberry is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Buckleberry tries to pass to full mount but Johnson defends it. Buckleberry is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Johnson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Buckleberry on the ground. Johnson keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Prince Buckleberry dominated that round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Johnson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Johnson doesn't manage to clinch there - Buckleberry circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Buckleberry darts in trying to clinch and Johnson counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Johnson.

Buckleberry blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Buckleberry lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Johnson backwards. Buckleberry avoiding damage as Johnson throws knees to the body.
Johnson breaks from the clinch.
Buckleberry throws a body kick the misses and Johnson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Buckleberry tries for a takedown but Johnson circles away easily and Johnson counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Johnson swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Johnson is looking to clinch but Buckleberry is avoiding it.

Buckleberry throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Johnson. Prince Buckleberry seems to be getting the better of the standup. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Buckleberry throws a nice inside leg kick. Johnson misses with a jab, cross combination.
Johnson wants to clinch up but Buckleberry keeps it at a distance. Buckleberry throws a leg kick and Johnson counters by moving into the clinch. Buckleberry blocks the elbow strike.
Johnson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Buckleberry displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Johnson throws out the jab. Johnson takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Buckleberry throws a sloppy head kick and Johnson moves out of range easily. Buckleberry blocks a jab. Johnson closes the distance but Buckleberry moves to the side and Buckleberry counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Johnson is lucky that one didn't land flush. Johnson fails in his attempt to clinch. Buckleberry tries to clinch up but Johnson circles away and keeps his distance. Buckleberry tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Johnson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Buckleberry swats away the attempt to clinch by Johnson. Joe Johnson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Buckleberry looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Johnson takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. A thudding body kick lands there by Buckleberry!

Johnson takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Buckleberry cracks Johnson with a right hand to the side of the head. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Johnson takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Johnson takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Buckleberry wants to clinch up but Johnson keeps it at a distance. Johnson takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. A head kick misses from Buckleberry. Both fighters are breathing heavily. A head kick by Johnson misses and Buckleberry counters with a nice body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Buckleberry goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Buckleberry lands a head kick!
Joe Johnson's cut is getting worse. Buckleberry tries to clinch but Johnson is having none of it. A solid leg kick lands there for Buckleberry.
Buckleberry thows a body kick. Johnson tries to catch it but that hurt him. Johnson is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Buckleberry throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Johnson stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Buckleberry follows into mount!
Johnson is rocked!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Buckleberry quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Buckleberry but it's paid off an Johnson is forced to tap! Nice work by Buckleberry.
