The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Roberts throws a half hearted mid kick. Roberts throws a lazy body kick and Mir decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Roberts's guard. Roberts will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Mir postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Mir preventing the sweep. Roberts on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Roberts tries to get out of the position. Roberts keeping moving, preventing Mir from controlling successfully. Roberts utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mir trying to control but Roberts is working from the bottom. Roberts controls Mir momentarily but Mir frees himself. Mir passes Roberts's left leg - he's now in half guard. Mir has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Roberts defend it? Mir steps over the head and cranks it - Roberts is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Mir!
