Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jonathon Steel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryu Mishima (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steel's entrance music is Mustasch - Double Nature. A fine choice. Mishima has chosen Tokyo Drift by Teriyaki Boyz as his entrance music. Ryu Mishima told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jonathon Steel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Sosuke Kotani and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mishima throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Steel's waist but Steel gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mishima off to one side.
Mishima shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Steel as he avoids it easily.
Mishima shoots in but no luck this time.
Jonathon Steel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ryu Mishima.
Steel gets the takedown into side control.
Steel wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Mishima, who protects the arm well.
Steel content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Mishima gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Mishima trying to hold on to Steel's head to control him but Steel postures up.

Steel wants to stand up but Mishima is controlling the position.
Steel passes the guard and advances to mount!
Mishima is just holding on here. Steel manages to take his back.
Steel is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Mishima has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Steel has the hooks in. Mishima is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Mishima tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Mishima is squirming around, avoiding Steel's attempts to control the action.

Steel is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Mishima has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Mishima!
Steel is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Steel is breathing heavily.
Mishima trying to control the position from guard on top but Steel is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Mishima wants to pass the guard but Steel is keeping the position.
Mishima drops back looking for a leg! Steel is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Steel manages to kick Mishima off! Mishima jumps back into Steel's guard.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Steel is trying to keep Mishima in close.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Steel working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mishima doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mishima manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Mishima tries to free his leg and advance position but Steel is retaining full guard.
Steel controls Mishima momentarily but Mishima frees himself.
Mishima drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Steel manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Mishima has Steel in his guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Steel has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Mishima is proving hard to escape from.
Steel thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Steel trying to control the position from guard on top but Mishima is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Steel works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Mishima trying to hold on to Steel's head to control him but Steel postures up.
Mishima is looking for a sweep. Steel is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Steel is trying to control the action in half guard but Mishima is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Mishima moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jonathon Steel dominated that round.

Mishima tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Steel misses with a takedown
and Mishima decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Steel's guard.

Steel escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mishima gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Steel is looking to sinch up a triangle. Mishima throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Steel's body to avoid the submission. Steel has instead reached around Mishima's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Steel arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
