The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jae U misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Flex.
Flex let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Nice sprawl there from Jae U as Flex shoots in.
Jae U is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Flex.
Flex looks to land a combination but Jae U avoids it well.

Jae U closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jae U lands in his opponent's guard.
Jae U content to stall in guard here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jae U has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Flex has a closed guard, preventing Jae U from standing up.

Flex is looking to sweep but instead, Jae U has passed into half guard.
Flex is trying to control but Jae U passes into side control!
Flex tries to improve position but can't.

Jae U stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Flex avoids the body shot from Jae U.

Jae U is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Flex's half guard.
Jae U throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Flex to regain full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Flex throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Jae U escapes and throws Flex's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Flex is looking for a sweep.
Jae U is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Flex's shoulder. That is not cool.
Jae U's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
