Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Juha Maenpaa (ranked 3062 p4p, 2598 weight class) and Hudson Clarkson (ranked 377 p4p, 335 weight class). Hudson Clarkson acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Juha Maenpaa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hudson Clarkson!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Gwen Towbar and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clarkson darts in looking for a takedown but Maenpaa gets double underhooks and turns Clarkson into the cage.
Maenpaa has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Maenpaa fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Maenpaa jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Clarkson shoots in looking for a takedown but Maenpaa manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Clarkson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Clarkson moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Hudson Clarkson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Clarkson bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Clarkson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Maenpaa tries to avoid it but Clarkson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Maenpaa to the ground. Maenpaa escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Juha Maenpaa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hudson Clarkson.

Clarkson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Maenpaa tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Clarkson is in Maenpaa's guard.
Clarkson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Clarkson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Clarkson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Clarkson wants to control from the top but Maenpaa keeps moving.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Maenpaa is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Maenpaa wants to stand but Clarkson has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Clarkson moves into full guard.
Clarkson has a closed guard, preventing Maenpaa from standing up.
Maenpaa has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Clarkson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Maenpaa is aware though and is defending well.

Clarkson has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Maenpaa should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Clarkson has tightened it up now! Maenpaa should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
