The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling each other endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive.
De Oliveira clinches up with Van Soest and pushes him back against the cage.
Van Soest is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Van Soest trying to stall but De Oliveira improves his position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

De Oliveira drives through and clinches with Van Soest against the cage.
