Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bjorn Olafsson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 26 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ricky Rawse!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Robert Twigg and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rawse misses with a combination
and Olafsson counters with a slapping leg kick.
Olafsson has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Hilo MMA in the buildup to the fight.
Olafsson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Olafsson avoids the body shot from Rawse.
Olafsson throws a quick counter head kick but Rawse was just out of range.

Rawse closes the distance and pushes Olafsson back into the cage.

Olafsson breaks from the clinch.

Rawse rushes Olafsson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Olafsson blocks an uppercut.
Rawse goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
A right hook to the body lands for Rawse.

Olafsson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rawse rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Olafsson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Rawse scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

Olafsson dodges the punch combination from Rawse.

Olafsson avoids a punch combination nicely.
Rawse throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Olafsson counters with a body kick.
Rawse throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Olafsson looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rawse wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Olafsson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Rawse rushes Olafsson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Rawse keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Olafsson's efforts to push away.

Olafsson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Rawse tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Olafsson counters with a three punch combo that has Rawse backing up. Rawse nods at Olafsson to acknowledge the strikes.
Olafsson pushes Rawse away with a front kick.
Olafsson scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Olafsson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rawse manages to avoid it.
Rawse tries to clinch up.
Rawse lands with a right hand.

Rawse rushes Olafsson and presses him up against the cage.
A body shot lands from Rawse.
Rawse swings wildly with an uppercut but Olafsson uses good head movement to avoid it.
Rawse has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Olafsson seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Rawse can turn it around.

Olafsson ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Olafsson no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Olafsson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rawse can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Olafsson wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Rawse is now in half guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Rawse is keen to just control but Olafsson is a slippery customer.
Rawse scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Rawse seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Olafsson trying to get back to full guard but Rawse takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!

Rawse takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Rawse in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Rawse creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Rawse has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Rawse is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Olafsson has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Rawse is looking to defend but Olafsson has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Rawse! Olafsson pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Rawse taps out and this one is all over!
