Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Vudu Sims (ranked 864 p4p, 1026 weight class) and Frankie Venegas (ranked 43 p4p, 56 weight class). Vudu Sims could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Frankie Venegas 's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vudu Sims!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Frankie Venegas !
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Glass and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sims wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Venegas blocks a head kick by Sims.
The crowd cheers as Sims lands an impressive looking overhand right. Venegas doesn't seem phased though.
Some wild striking there from Venegas .
Venegas misses with a jab, cross combination.
Sims scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Venegas drives through and clinches with Sims against the cage.
Venegas looking for a takedown.
Sims wants to break the clinch but can't.
Sims stops a takedown attempt from Venegas .
A frustrated look appears on Sims's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Sims wants to get back to striking at distance but Venegas won't allow it.
Venegas is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Vudu Sims has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frankie Venegas .
Venegas drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Sims gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Venegas doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Sims is pressed up against the cage. Venegas has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Sims down to the mat. Sims avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Sims uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Venegas has time to react.
Venegas moves into range and clinches up with Sims.

Sims wants to get back to full guard.
Venegas thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Venegas is looking to pass Sims's guard but actually Sims recovers to full guard.
Sims is trying to control the position but Venegas postures up.
Venegas must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Venegas throws a big right hand that misses.

Venegas stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sims swivels though and keeps the full guard.

My spies in London MMA Club inform me that Venegas has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Venegas wants to control from the top but Sims keeps moving.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Sims works over Venegas 's head and body with a nice combination.
Venegas closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Sims definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Venegas gets a double leg takedown into Sims's guard.
Sims has his feet on Venegas 's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Venegas looks winded!
Venegas forces Sims back against the cage and clinches.
Sims looking to slow down the pace here.
Venegas struggles to land a body shot inside as Sims controls his hands.
Venegas goes for a takedown in the clinch but Sims prevents it.
Sims wants to break free but Venegas has control.
Venegas is trying to drag Sims to the mat but Sims just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Venegas lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Venegas seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Sims does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Vudu Sims dominated that round.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Venegas .
Sims lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Venegas sprawling to the canvas. Sims follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Venegas hang on?
Venegas is rocked!
Venegas is looking for a sweep. Sims is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Venegas is still in real trouble! Can Sims finish him?
Venegas is not content to let Sims control the position.
Sims decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Sims throws an uppercut from hell that sends Venegas clean off his feet! He's out cold! Sims stands back and admires his work as he thinks about that KO of the night award that is surely being wrapped up for him back stage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Vudu Sims!
After winning the bout, Vudu Sims thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
