Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joanderson Ribeiro! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hirata Hitoshi! The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A momentary lapse in concentration from Ribeiro enables Hitoshi to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Ribeiro manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Ribeiro looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Hitoshi passes into side control.
Ribeiro can't do much from the bottom here. Ribeiro tries to buck Hitoshi off but Hitoshi is having none of it. Ribeiro wants to control but Hitoshi postures up. Ribeiro is looking to reverse the position. Ribeiro sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Ribeiro actively working from the bottom here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hitoshi is looking to take a break and control but Ribeiro is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Hitoshi is looking to pass to full mount but he's left his head exposed in the process. Ribeiro has locked up a guillotine and regained full guard. He's really cranking on it - this could be the end! Is it? Is it? No... YES! YES! He's tapped! I didn't think he was going to get it there for a minute but he did! Well done Ribeiro! He waited for his chance and took it!

Joanderson Ribeiro decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
