Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Koromos (ranked 2162 p4p, 2601 weight class) and New Home (ranked 256 p4p, 300 weight class). Koromos comes to the cage accompanied by Matthew Parker - Signal (SPES INVICTA Remix). Home has chosen Ransom as his entrance music. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, John Koromos! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 17 - 20 - 0, fighting out of London, New Home! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Home misses with a straight left. Home cracks Koromos with an open hand slap. Home tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Koromos paws at him with a jab and circles away. Koromos throws a hook but Home avoids it easily. Home slips a straight right by Koromos. A punch combination from Koromos misses. Home swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Koromos moves out of range as Home strikes. Koromos dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Koromos will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Home is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent. Home misses with a hook. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Home misses the jab.

Home throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Koromos sees it coming and avoids it easily. Koromos slips under a jab. Home misses with an uppercut
and Koromos counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. A left and a right from Koromos both land. Nice combination. Koromos moves in looking to clinch but Home pushes him off. Home throws out a counter right but Koromos avoids it with no problem. Koromos cracks Home with a right hand to the side of the head. Home gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Koromos misses with a punch to the body.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Koromos takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Koromos lands with a short head shot on the inside. Koromos tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Koromos misses with a body punch.

Home is rocked! Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Koromos. Koromos blocks a body shot from Home. Home working aggressively here.

Koromos is struggling to control the position. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by John Koromos. Home keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Koromos throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. New Home seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Koromos throws a body shot but no joy. Home swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Koromos misses with a low kick.
Home keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Koromos. Home throws a shot from downtown. Koromos moves away and avoids it.

and Koromos cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Home's coach down at London MMA Club was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Home's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Home's corner calls for a 1-2. Home obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Koromos throws a right hand that Home ducks under and follows up with a left that Home also avoids with ease. Home cracks Koromos with a good jab. Home throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Koromos sees it coming and avoids it easily. Home throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Home pounces like a tiger and cracks Koromos with a vicious hook! Koromos is down but not out! Home follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). New Home! New Home really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Laundry only logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
