Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Blonde Brunson (ranked 2178 p4p, 2465 weight class) and Diego Lacasa (ranked 120 p4p, 139 weight class). Lacasa has chosen Hooligang - Joey Valence & Brae as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Blonde Brunson! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Diego Lacasa! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lacasa jabs at Brunson's body. Horrible takedown attempt by Brunson or perhaps it was just good defense by Lacasa, which made it look bad. Lacasa swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Brunson. Lacasa scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Lacasa lands with a good body shot. Brunson gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily enabling Lacasa to counter with a crisp jab. Lacasa throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Brunson stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Lacasa darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Brunson takes a shot to the body in his stride.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Lacasa lands a jab to Brunson's midsection. Lacasa darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Brunson walks into a jab. Brunson manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Lacasa on his heels. He'll look to pass Lacasa's guard now, I'm sure. Lacasa is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Brunson looking to pass the guard. Brunson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lacasa can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lacasa has momentary wrist control but Brunson slips an elbow through the middle. Brunson trying to control but Lacasa is working from the bottom. Brunson scores with a decent looking elbow strike. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Brunson is working Lacasa over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Lacasa is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Brunson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Lacasa working a defensive guard here.
Brunson slips nicely into half guard. Lacasa has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Brunson is working away from the top position though. Brunson is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Brunson is trying to work for a kimura but Lacasa is defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lacasa trying to control from the bottom.
Brunson not landing any meaningful shots this time. Lacasa trying to control but Brunson postures up.
Brunson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Lacasa is trying to control but can't.
Brunson working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Brunson is working for a kimura but Lacasa is defending it quite comfortably.
Brunson landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Brunson looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Brunson lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brunson works his way into full mount! Brunson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Brunson cracks Lacasa with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Brunson landing shots from mount. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Brunson cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Lacasa tries to control Brunson's body but Brunson pushes him off. Lacasa squirms to his side and now Brunson has his back! Lacasa trying to control the position but Brunson manages to sink in the hooks. Lacasa might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Brunson haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Brunson loading up with punches from the back mount - how long can Lacasa hold on?
Brunson is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Lacasa won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Brunson off his unconscious opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Blonde Brunson! Blonde Brunson retains his bantamweight title! An out of breath Blonde Brunson thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
