Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Anderson Leite (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Carryon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James Carryon has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anderson Leite!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, James Carryon!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Alexandre Firmino and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Leite closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Leite lands in his opponent's guard.
Leite advances to half guard.
Carryon manages to get to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Carryon has his foot on Leite's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Leite works his way back into a safe position though.
Leite throwing strikes from guard but Carryon blocks nicely.

Leite drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Carryon dives on top into guard.

Leite working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Carryon has passed into half guard!
Carryon thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Leite controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
Carryon throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Leite looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Carryon is looking for a kimura here.
Leite moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Leite looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Carryon throwing strikes from guard but Leite blocks nicely.
Carryon in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Carryon stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Leite swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Leite looking to control.

Carryon drops back, looking for a kneebar! Leite looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Leite looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Leite!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Leite is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Carryon knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Anderson Leite dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Carryon is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Carryon tries to bum rush Leite with a series of wild strikes but Leite uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Leite gets a takedown into half guard.

Carryon is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Leite pulls his head out easily.

Leite is working for a kimura but Carryon is defending it quite comfortably.
Leite looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Carryon looking for submissions off his back.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Leite content to control rather than advance.
Carryon tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Leite has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

Carryon tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Leite goes for an armbar but Carryon turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Carryon.

Leite has his foot on Carryon's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Carryon works his way back into a safe position though.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Leite looking for a guillotine here but Carryon defends easily.

Carryon has gone for a leg lock! Leite slips out almost immediately though and dives into Carryon's guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Leite pushing down on Carryon's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Anderson Leite dominated that second round.
That's time! Leite's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Carryon has his takedown stuffed

and Leite counters with a nice double leg into side control. Carryon won't be happy with that.
Carryon is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Leite has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Carryon is looking for a sweep.
Carryon should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Leite controlling the position from side mount.
You can see the frustration on Carryon's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Leite swings around for an armbar but Carryon sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Leite's guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Leite looking for a guillotine here but Carryon defends easily.
Carryon trying to control the position from guard on top but Leite is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Leite working a defensive guard here.
Leite will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Carryon trying to control but Leite is working from the bottom.
Carryon loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Carryon is looking to stand up but Leite won't let him.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Carryon wants to control from the top but Leite keeps moving.
Leite wants to sweep here but Carryon controlling him for the moment.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Carryon looks to clinch

and Leite counters with a shoot takedown. Carryon fights it but they end up in guard.
Leite stopping the sweep attempt from Carryon.
Leite is looking to work some ground and pound but Carryon has wrist control.

Carryon misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Carryon fails to land a wild elbow strike.
James Carryon has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Anderson Leite is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Leite is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Carryon's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Well Leite has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
