Stepping Stone 72 PBP Commentary |
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 1 losses; Sebastion Lynar! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 2 losses; Diego Hageman! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, John Kavanagh and Dean Styles.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Lynar has managed to clinch.
Lynar pulls guard effortlessly. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lynar seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Hageman trying to control the position from guard on top but Lynar is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hageman drops back looking for a leg! Lynar is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lynar manages to kick Hageman off! Hageman jumps back into Lynar's guard. Hageman trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lynar has his foot on Hageman's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hageman works his way back into a safe position though. Lynar working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hageman doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hageman manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Hageman trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hageman content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Lynar has locked up a guillotine! Lynar's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Hageman is holding on here and Lynar must be using up a lot of energy. Hageman has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Lynar gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Sebastion Lynar! Sebastion Lynar spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant. |
